The Over-The-Road ("OTR") Truck Driver is responsible for transporting Grandstand Glassware + Apparel ("Grandstand") product on public highways in interstate commerce using a tractor-trailor truck.
The position offers a consistent route with 2 days home per week, paid time-off, new equipment, and a $5,000 one (1) year retention bonus.
•Transport and deliver Grandstand products over long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
•Hook and unhook trailer; ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage; install and remove tire chains as required by weather.
•Load and unload trailers and lift, pull, push and carry freight.
•Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document; obtain signature or warehouse scans to confirm and complete all deliveries.
•Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
•Make safety a priority at all times; perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to Supervisor or Grandstand Facility/Safety Manager; maintain cleanliness of vehicle; obey applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.
•Follow accident procedures, if an accident occurs.
•Represent Grandstand in a professional manner.
•Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
•High school diploma or GED required.
•Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required.
•Two (2) plus years of previous tractor-trailer driving experience.
•Clean driving record with no moving violations.
•Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc) required by Department of Transportation ("DOT") and pass required drug/alcohol test
•Acceptable background investigation results.
•Knowledge of all applicable DOT and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
•An innate sense of direction and proficiency in using Global Positioning System ("GPS") and other routing systems.
•Ability to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
•High-level of composure in all situations and good stress management.
•Successful completion of DOT physical.
•Ability to be away from home for extended periods of time, available for round-the-clock trips and ability to remain alert while driving up to 11 hours at any given time.
•Ability to perform physical activities that require frequently crouching/squatting (bend legs/spine), stooping (bend at waist), reaching (extended hands/arm), reach across midline, handling (hold, grasp, seize, turn), fingering (pinch/pick)
•Ability to enter and exit the vehicle's cab numerous times each day.
•Ability to install and remove tire chains, hook and unhook trailers, and secure freight.
•Ability to push/pull (force exerted) freight at a self-selected height with a force of 150 pounds.
•Ability to access and manually release fifth wheel lever and tandem pins which requires horizontal pulling with a force of 100 pounds at a height of 44 inches and pulling with a force of 100 pounds at a height of 38 inches.
•Ability to perform physical activities that require occasional standing, change in position, kneeling, stairs, ramp, ladder, arm/hand, leg/foot, simple grasp (grasp lightly), firm grasp (use pressure/force), and fine manipulation.
•Ability to adjust products for transport with the use of a forklift using up to 48 pounds of pull and/or pushing force.
•Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
